Starting at AMC Cinemas in Woodbridge Village Center, the group offers a beginner-friendly, one-hour hike covering two miles around North Woodbridge Lake on a flat, paved path. Optionally, hikers can extend their walk to include South Lake, making it a two-hour, four-mile hike. Prior registration is required.

UCI's Hilir Henno Secures Second Consecutive Selection for Volleyball Big West Preseason Team

Junior Hilir Henno from UCI was selected for the Big West Preseason Coaches Team again. In 2023, he was a first team All-American, leading in ace average (.880) and setting UCI records for aces. He ranked high in kills and points in the Big West, and was recognized as AVCA National Player of the Week and Big West Offensive Player of the Week. UCI's volleyball team, ranked 5th nationally in 2023, starts the 2024 season ranked third in the preseason poll.
UC Irvine Men's Basketball Falls to New Mexico 78-65 in Non-Conference Finale

New Mexico defeated UC Irvine 78-65 in their non-conference finale at The Pit, maintaining their lead throughout the game. The Lobos (11-1) outscored UCI 45-38 in the second half. Key players included Justin Hohn of UCI with 14 points and New Mexico's Jaelen House leading all scorers with 20 points. UCI's bench contributed 25 points, but it wasn't enough against New Mexico's strong performance. UCI now has a 7-5 record, while New Mexico extended their winning streak to 10 games. The Anteaters' next game is the start of Big West action at the Bren Events Center.

- North-South Challenge: Newport Harbor defeated Tesoro 63-53, led by Riggs Guy with 20 points. They'll play Alemany in the Western Tournament semifinals. Other games included Tustin beating Aliso Niguel 54-40, San Clemente winning over Northwood 68-55, and Cypress defeating San Juan Hills 85-78.
- Non-League Boys: Huntington Beach rallied to beat University 81-74, with Oliver Nakra scoring 40 points. Woodbridge narrowly defeated Capistrano Valley 46-45, and Servite won against Savanna 76-60.
- Orange Coast League Boys: Calvary Chapel beat St. Margaretโs 69-58, Estancia defeated Saddleback 61-35, and Costa Mesa won against Santa Ana 61-50.
- Freeway League Boys: Sonora triumphed over Sunny Hills 61-40.
- Non-League Girls: Portola edged out San Juan Hills 61-59, and Woodbridge dominated Tesoro 64-22.
- Freeway League Girls: Sunny Hills narrowly defeated Sonora 44-41.

Irvine Police Hunt for Suspects in $200K Company Truck Burglaries

Irvine police seek suspects in a series of burglaries involving company trucks near Rockfield and Thomas, resulting in over $200,000 in losses. The burglaries occurred over three days, using a truck stolen from another local business. Tips can be sent to [email protected].
