UC Irvine Triumphs Over Concordia University with an 18-8 Victory in Women's Water Polo Match

UC Irvine, ranked 8th, defeated Concordia University Irvine 18-8 in water polo, with contributions from 13 different players. Key players Jensine Bugelli, Lauren Hett, Maja Layden, Marilynn Hassett, and Vivian Bailey each scored twice. Goalkeeper Rachel Kirchner helped secure the win with two saves and an assist. The match featured a strong start from UC Irvine, leading 5-0 by the end of the first period and maintaining dominance throughout the game. Concordia's Abby Mammen stood out with two goals. Next, UC Irvine will face No. 24 CSUN in Northridge.

UCI's Noah Zamora Clinches Big West Men's Tennis Player of the Week Title

Noah Zamora, a junior at UC Irvine, has been awarded the Big West Men's Tennis Player of the Week. He continued his winning streak in singles to four matches, including a notable victory against UCLA's Spencer Johnson and a dominant win over Weber State's Elyes Marouani. Zamora also excelled in doubles with partner Rahul Dhokia, securing a win against Villanova. With an 8-2 record in dual matches this season, Zamora leads his team in singles victories.

Irvine and Woodbridge Secure Early Wins in Pacific Coast League Baseball Series

This week, University High School hosted a Pacific Coast League (PCL) baseball game. Irvine and Woodbridge won the first two games of their PCL series against Sage Hill and Laguna Hills, respectively. Irvine's Adam Valencia delivered a standout pitching performance against Sage Hill, leading to a 6-2 victory, following an initial 7-2 win. Portola evened its series with University, thanks to Rocky Palacio's pitching and a decisive home run, bouncing back from an 8-0 loss. Woodbridge secured a 3-1 win over Laguna Hills after a 7-4 victory, with Vincent DeMarco's pitching contributing significantly. The series concludes with final games on Friday.
