Irvine's Great Park to Host Town Hall for Upcoming All-Wheeled Sports Plaza

The city of Irvine is in the process of developing a new all-wheeled plaza at the Great Park, designed to cater to enthusiasts of biking, skateboarding, and other wheeled sports. To ensure the project aligns with community expectations, a Town Hall meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 29, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Portola Springs Community Park. The event is an opportunity for residents to provide feedback, which will be instrumental in guiding the skate park and landscape design team in creating a space that reflects the community's needs and aspirations. Visit Irvine's Latest Attraction: OC Zoo's Expansive New Exhibit Home to Beloved Mountain Lions and Jaguars

The OC Zoo, located in Irvine Regional Park and dedicated to caring for native animals of Orange County and the Southwestern U.S., has opened a new Large Mammal Exhibit. This 2-acre habitat is home to mountain lions and jaguars, including rescued and rehabilitated animals. The exhibit, costing $9 million with $1.9 million funded by a state grant, features natural settings and offers visitors unique viewing experiences through aerial bridges. This expansion, the largest in the zoo's history since its opening in 1985, has significantly increased attendance, with admission priced at $2 for those over 3 years old.
Meet the Chef Behind Irvineโs Newest Family-Inspired Italian Eatery, Oliverโs Trattoria

Oliver's Trattoria, a new restaurant at Quail Hill Shopping Center, offers dishes similar to its Michelin Guide-recognized sibling, Oliver's Osteria in Laguna Beach, including signature pastas and chef Erik De Marchi's daily-changing risotto. Inspired by his Emilia-Romagna roots, De Marchi introduces contemporary dishes like yellowtail-sashimi carpaccio and wood-fired pizza for lunch. The trattoria features patios, catering, and private event spaces. Named after De Marchi's son, the trattoria and osteria reflect De Marchi's culinary heritage and innovation, blending traditional Italian flavors with modern presentations and offering a mix of Roman and Neapolitan pizza styles. De Marchi, who now lives in Irvine, emphasizes fresh, simple ingredients in his dishes and aims to elevate Italian cuisine while maintaining its traditional essence.
