Understanding Acute Bronchitis: Symptoms, Causes, and Effective Treatments in Orange County

Acute bronchitis typically presents symptoms that last up to two weeks, including a cough with phlegm, chest soreness, body aches, and fever. It's most commonly caused by respiratory viruses, such as COVID-19 or bacteria. Smokers, individuals with weakened immune systems, or those exposed to lung irritants are at higher risk. Medical attention is advised for severe symptoms like high fever, coughing up blood, difficulty breathing, or if symptoms persist over three weeks or recur.

- Treatment: Depends on diagnosis. May include anti-inflammatory drugs, pain relievers (Tylenol, ibuprofen), cough syrup, nasal spray, antibiotics (for bacterial infections only).

- Advice: Rest at home to recover and avoid spreading infection.

- Clinic Info: Treatment available at Family Care Centers in Irvine, Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa, with on-site diagnosis facilities and online check-in.
