Historic Arrival: Vietnam War-Era Helicopter Joins Irvine's Aviation Legacy at the Great Park

The Flying Leathernecks Museum at the Great Park in Irvine is set to receive the CH-46E Sea Knight helicopter, known as “Lady Ace 09,” famous for its role in evacuating Americans and Vietnamese during the fall of Saigon in 1975. This helicopter, along with around 40 other aircraft and aviation artifacts, will be displayed in an old hangar at the Great Park. The museum, which is a collaboration between the Flying Leatherneck Historical Foundation, the City of Irvine, and the Marine Corps, aims to preserve and educate about Marine Corps aviation history. The museum's construction is underway at the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station, with the first three planes already welcomed by a cheering crowd. The 100,000 square foot museum is expected to open in a few years, celebrating the rich history of Marine Corps aviation.

The CDC recommends adults get 75-150 minutes of physical activity weekly, but most Americans fall short, leading a sedentary lifestyle that increases the risk of chronic health issues like heart disease and diabetes. To combat this, it's important to recognize signs of a sedentary lifestyle, such as prolonged sitting and lack of physical activity, which can also affect mental health. Overcoming sedentary living involves:
setting realistic goals
creating a plan
starting slow
scheduling activities
staying accountable
monitoring progress
Benefits include improved cardiovascular health, weight management, muscular and skeletal health, mental well-being, energy levels, sleep quality, and cognitive function. FCCMG offers personalized fitness plans to help overcome sedentary living, available at their urgent care clinics.

Berger's performance included 10 strikeouts and only two walks, maintaining a perfect season record of 3-0. The game was pivotal for University's playoff hopes, especially after a narrow loss in the series opener against Irvine.
