New Study Reveals No Pancreatic Cancer Risk from Popular Weight-Loss Drugs

A recent study published in JAMA Network Open found that weight-loss drugs Ozempic and Wegovy (GLP-1 receptor agonists) do not increase pancreatic cancer risk. This conclusion comes from a study of 500,000 patients over six years. However, Dr. Kishore M. Gadde from UCI Health urges caution, citing previous conflicting studies and the need for more detailed research, especially regarding individual GLP-1 drugs and their safety in various clinical situations. Gadde, an expert in obesity and type 2 diabetes, emphasizes the importance of careful patient monitoring due to the drugs' association with other serious health conditions.
