March 5 election ballots sent to registered voters. Irvine voters decide on Measure D, which could expand City Council to six members with a mayor elected at large and switch to district elections.

Important dates:

UCI Women's basketball Overcome Highlanders in Fourth Quarter Surge to Clinch Victory

In a decisive fourth quarter, UC Irvine's women's basketball team overcame UC Riverside with a 19-8 run, sealing a 62-53 win. The game saw a competitive first three quarters with multiple lead changes. The Anteaters' late-game surge, highlighted by a 14-3 run and robust defense, limited UCR to just one field goal in the final minutes. This victory brings UC Irvine to a 15-7 record, tying for first in the Big West Conference standings. Coach Tamara Inoue praised the team's focused defense and rebounding efforts during the critical final quarter.

Farrington's Eight Threes Power Irvine Valley Past Santa Ana

Irvine Valley men's basketball beat Santa Ana 67-55, with Luke Farrington shining with 28 points, including eight three-pointers.
