Empower Yourself: How Registering with CDCR Can Help Crime Victims and Families

If you're affected by a crime, the Orange County District Attorneyโs Office advises registering with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) to receive updates on the offender's custody status, including release, death, escape, parole hearings, transfers, or execution. This ensures you stay informed post-sentencing. CDCR also offers guidance on collecting restitution, with forms available at their website. #SupportForVictims

Battling the Norovirus: Prevention Tips and Treatment Insights

Norovirus, often called the "winter vomiting bug," causes symptoms like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and muscle pain, and can lead to severe dehydration.
It's highly contagious and poses greater risks for the elderly, those with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women.
The virus spreads through contaminated food, surfaces, and close contact with infected individuals. Symptoms appear within 12-48 hours of exposure and can last several days, with the potential to infect others even after recovery.
There's no specific treatment for norovirus; management focuses on hydration and symptom relief. Preventative measures include thorough handwashing, avoiding contaminated food, and disinfecting surfaces.
If symptoms are severe or persist, medical attention may be necessary. Find help at on of the following urgent cares at: Irvine, Costa Mesa, or Fountain Valley.
