Historic Military Aircraft Make Grand Entrance to Irvine's Great Park Ahead of Museum Opening

A convoy carrying a Beechcraft T-34 Mentor, a Boeing F/A-18 Hornet, and a Chinese-made MIG 15 caused excitement as it traveled from Marine Corps Air Station Miramar to Irvine's Great Park, marking the start of a significant relocation. These aircraft, the first of 40, are moving to Hangar 297 at the Great Park, a site with historical ties to Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, for restoration and eventual display at the new Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum, set to open in early 2026. This move comes after the Marine Corps announced the closure of the original museum at MCAS Miramar due to funding issues, prompting the relocation to Irvine, which offers a nod to the museum's original home. The aircraft, including notable models like the F/A-18 Hornet, which is 80% restored, and others requiring significant work, will undergo restoration over the next two years. The relocation and restoration efforts are part of a private-public partnership aimed at preserving and celebrating the history of Southern California Marine aviation.

Comprehensive Wound Care Services Open Daily in Orange County

A cut may necessitate medical attention and possibly stitches if it:
fails to cease bleeding after 10 minutes of applied pressure
is notably deep or lengthy
contains embedded objects
or is situated on the mouth, face, or hand
Immediate care is advised for cuts that are deep, result from bites, are puncture wounds, contain debris, or expose underlying tissues. Stitches may be required for cuts that are deeper than 1/4 inch, longer than 1/2 inch, continue to bleed despite pressure, or are located in sensitive areas.
Urgent care centers located in Irvine, Costa Mesa, and Fountain Valley are equipped to offer comprehensive treatment for such injuries, including the provision of sutures when necessary. These facilities are operational daily, featuring on-site labs and X-ray capabilities, and are staffed by certified professionals. They also provide the convenience of online check-in to reduce waiting times for patients.

UCI Women's Basketball Eyes Big West Title in Season Finale Against Cal Poly and Cal State Fullerton

UC Irvine's women's basketball team is set to conclude their regular season with games against Cal Poly on March 7 and Cal State Fullerton on March 9. Positioned second in the Big West standings, they aim for a regular-season championship, needing two wins and favorable outcomes from Hawai'i's games.
