Excellence Recognized: Northwood High MUN Triumphs on East Coast Stage

Northwood High School's MUN (Model United Nations) team excelled at the Boston Invitational MUN Conference, winning awards like Verbal Commendations, Honorable Mention, and Best Delegate. They were the only California team there. Congrats to the team! 🎉

Traffic Alert: Recycled Water Pipeline Break Closes Westbound Lanes on Spectrum Center Drive

Westbound lanes of Spectrum Center Drive are closed between Gateway and Enterprise Drive due to a recycled water pipeline break.

The road will be closed through the week while Irvine Ranch Water District makes repairs. Detours are in place. Please avoid the area if possible.

Irvine Valley Legendary Coach Jerry Hernandez Secures 500th College Win in Commanding Victory

Irvine Valley men's basketball coach Jerry Hernandez notches his 500th college win in a 65-50 victory over Golden West. Hernandez, coaching for 28 seasons, emphasizes the importance of friendships over victories. The team rallied in the second half, led by Jesse Stines, Marcus Carter, and Luke Farrington. Hernandez's tenure is marked by numerous accomplishments, including a conference title and consistent playoff appearances. He's known for developing players who continue their careers at higher levels. One of his cherished moments was coaching both his sons, Anthony and Daniel, on the team.
