World-Renowned Flutist Jasmine Choi to Perform at Irvine Barclay Theatre on April 29

Flute virtuoso Jasmine Choi will perform live at the Irvine Barclay Theatre on Tuesday, April 29, at 7 PM for a one-night-only concert.

  • Accompanied by pianist Hugh Sung, bassist Dario Bizio, and drummer Maverick Macmillan, Choi will present a diverse program featuring classical and jazz pieces, including works by Ennio Morricone, Justin Hurwitz, and Claude Bolling.

  • Known globally for her expressive style and genre-crossing performances, Choi brings her signature brilliance to this special evening.

Northwood Park Playground Planning Meeting Scheduled for May 19

The City of Irvine is holding a community meeting on Monday, May 19, from 6โ€“7 p.m. at Northwood Community Center to gather public input on planned improvements for Northwood Community Parkโ€™s playground.

  • The project aims to upgrade aging equipment, improve accessibility, and maintain the parkโ€™s signature castle-themed design.

  • Attendees can share ideas, review early design concepts, and provide feedback.

Catch College Baseball Action in Irvine: USC Battles Gonzaga at Great Park This Weekend

USC takes on Gonzaga in a three-game college baseball series at the Great Park Sports Complex in Irvine from Thursday, April 17 to Saturday, April 19.

  • Game times are 6:30 PM on Thursday and Friday, and 1:00 PM on Saturday.

Irvine Animal Care Center and HEART Offer Affordable Vaccines for Cats and Dogs on April 22

The Irvine Animal Care Center is hosting a low-cost cat and dog vaccine clinic in partnership with HEART on Monday, April 22, at 6443 Oak Canyon, Irvine.

  • Services will be provided via HEARTโ€™s mobile clinic in the centerโ€™s parking lot, and reservations are required.

Harashima Leads UC Irvine Menโ€™s Golf at Western Intercollegiate with 11th-Place Finish

UC Irvineโ€™s Rei Harashima led the men's golf team with an 11th-place finish at the 78th Western Intercollegiate in Santa Cruz, posting a 1-under 209 across three rounds. The Anteaters placed 12th overall out of a strong field, while No. 18 San Diego State won the team title. Jack Yu shot UCIโ€™s best final round (69) and tied for 22nd, while Tommy Lin tied for 47th. The team now prepares for the Big West Championships at La Quinta, set for April 27โ€“29.

IVC Menโ€™s Tennis Upsets No. 1 Ventura to Reach Regional Final

Irvine Valley College men's tennis pulled off a major upset in the SoCal playoffs, defeating No. 1 Ventura 5-3 on the road despite being seeded No. 4. The Lasers, now healthy, started strong by taking two of three doubles matches and clinched the win with key singles victories from Nick Grove, Nevin McCann, and Lucas Diaz. With the win, IVC (11-2) advances to the regional final against rival Riverside on Saturday at 2 p.m., aiming for a state tournament berth. Riverside beat No. 2 Glendale and previously edged IVC in two close matches earlier this season.

Crean Lutheran High School held a signing day ceremony on campus to celebrate student-athletes committing to play college sports.
