Tax Alert: Three OC Cities to Vote on Sales Tax Increase

Three cities in Orange County are considering sales tax increases. Two have already voted to place the tax increase on the ballot, and a third is scheduled to vote tomorrow. Residents are encouraged to contact their Councilmembers and advocate for a vote against additional taxes. With California already holding the highest sales tax rate in the nation, further increases will only add to the financial burden. It's important to take a stand and say no to more taxes.

Hoag Celebrates Major Milestone in $1 Billion Irvine Expansion Project

Hoag marked a major milestone in its $1 billion Irvine expansion with a topping-off ceremony at its Sand Canyon Avenue campus. Physicians, employees, and leaders signed the final beam of the new Surgical Pavilion, which will feature 24 ICU rooms, 12 private pre- and post-operative rooms, 12 post-anesthesia care unit bays, eight operating rooms, and two procedure rooms. Slated to open in early 2026, the pavilion is part of six new buildings, adding 155 inpatient beds and 120,000 square feet of ambulatory facilities. The expansion will create the Sun Family Campus, named after a $50 million gift from Diana and David Sun, co-founders of Kingston Technology. The pavilion will connect to new specialty care pavilions for womenβs health, cancer, and digestive health. Andrew Guarni, Hoagβs executive vice president, emphasized the patient-centric features of the new womenβs health center, highlighting innovations such as rooms equipped for seamless family connectivity and a variety of birthing options.
