The Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions (CKPU) and Kaiser Permanente have tentatively agreed on measures to address the staffing crisis, including a 21% wage increase over four years, setting healthcare worker minimum wages at $25/hr in California and $23/hr elsewhere, ensuring job security against subcontracting and outsourcing, and launching various workforce investment initiatives like enhanced training and streamlined hiring.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month acts as a crucial time to refresh and remind ourselves to stay alert to 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. The # 1 recommendation is 𝗯𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝗙𝗔/𝗠𝗙𝗔.

2FA stands for "Two-Factor Authentication. It's also commonly referred to as MFA which stands for Multi-Factor Authentication.

Using 2FA/MFA is like having two locks on your online accounts to make them more secure.

The first lock is usually a password, which you create when you sign up for an account. It's like having a secret code to open the door.

The second lock is something special that only you have. It could be a 𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲, a 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁, 𝗮𝗻 "𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿" 𝗮𝗽𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲, etc.. This second lock makes it harder for someone else to get into your account because they would need both your password and this special code.

So, 2FA/MFA is like having two locks on your online account door, making it much safer and harder for anyone else to get in without your permission.

Top recommendation: enable 2FA on your online banking accounts, credit cards account, etc.

Two Arrested in Irvine E-Bike Theft Spree; Stolen Bikes Recovered

Two e-bikes were stolen from a school in Sierra Vista. Tustin Police helped track and recover the bikes, arresting two suspects. Another stolen bike was found from Beckman High School. Swift Justice: Irvine Police Apprehend Suspect in Stolen Vehicle and Bike Cases

Orange County Sheriff's Department asked Irvine PD to find a stolen vehicle near Harvard and Michelson. Officers quickly located it in a residential area. Later, a bike theft occurred in the same area, and the thief was caught riding it wearing stolen shoes. The suspect was arrested for two felony warrants, petty theft, and narcotics charges. OCSD might add stolen vehicle charges.
