Stay Safe Online: Key Tips for Cybersecurity Awareness Month

Since 2004, October has been recognized as Cybersecurity Awareness Month by the President and Congress to highlight the importance of cybersecurity in public and private sectors. This initiative encourages collaboration between government and industry to raise awareness of online risks. Key steps to stay safe include:
using strong passwords
enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA)
keeping software up-to-date
Georgia’s Brings Southern Comfort to Irvine Spectrum; Blind Coyote Cantina Debuts in Yorba Linda

Georgia’s Restaurant has opened at the Irvine Spectrum, offering its signature Southern comfort food like fried chicken, jambalaya, po-boys, and peach sangria. Built on family recipes from co-owner Nika Shoemaker-Machado’s mother, the restaurant features a cozy, home-like atmosphere. This is Georgia’s fourth location in Southern California, joining others in Anaheim, Eastvale, and Long Beach. It’s located at 732 Spectrum Center Drive, with dishes priced between $5.95 and $35.95.
Blind Coyote Cantina in Yorba Linda, formerly The Blind Pig, now serves a revamped menu focused on Mexican cuisine and craft cocktails. Dishes include carnitas enchiladas, lamb empanadas, and house-made churros, in a ranchero-style setting with turquoise and earth-toned decor. It offers both classic and new agave-based drinks. Located at 4975 Lakeview Ave, it’s open Tuesday to Sunday, with prices ranging from $10 to $65, plus daily specials and happy hour deals.
Final Phase of Trabuco Road Construction Underway Until November 5

The final phase of work on Trabuco Road between Jeffrey Road and Sand Canyon Avenue is in progress, with paving, striping, and utility adjustments scheduled between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through November 5, weather permitting. Expect potential delays and consider alternate routes. For details on this and other projects in Irvine, check the latest Roadway Improvements and Traffic Advisories newsletter here.

Crean Lutheran High School’s football team made a strong debut in the Epsilon League, defeating Foothill 38-20. The Saints (5-1, 1-0) led 24-6 at halftime, with an impressive offensive showing led by QB Dylan D’epifanio, who threw for 206 yards and three touchdowns. Drew Deese caught six passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns, while Taurian Nash set a school record with a 94-yard run, finishing with 170 rushing yards. The Saints' defense, led by Ben Byszewski and Anthony Jones, held Foothill’s previously high-scoring offense in check. Connor Stephens was perfect on PATs and added a field goal. Despite a strong effort from Foothill's quarterback Gino Marchetti and his team, they struggled to keep up. Foothill will face Laguna Hills next, while Crean Lutheran hosts El Dorado for their homecoming game.

![]() | ![]() |
A patrol officer recently stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and found stolen mail, packages, US Mail keys, keys to a private university, and an apartment access fob inside. The driver, Don Quy Le, 45, of Santa Ana, was arrested and taken to Orange County Jail on multiple charges, including identity fraud and false vehicle registration. Le was already on probation and out on bail from a recent case.
