Motor officers are patrolling the trails and open spaces on dual-sport BMW motorcycles, enabling quick responses to those in distress. Many of these officers are certified EMTs. Visitors are reminded to:

  • stay on marked trails

  • obey posted signs

  • avoid smoking

  • leave dogs at home

  • report suspicious activity to IPD

JC Butler Joins Miami HEAT's NBA 2K25 Summer League Roster

Alumni JC Butler joined the Miami HEAT's NBA 2K25 Summer League roster, one of 14 players coached by Dan Bisaccio. The HEAT went 2-1 in the California Classic, with Butler playing in two games. Their Summer League continues in Las Vegas with games against the Celtics, Thunder, Mavericks, and Raptors. The NBA 2K25 Summer League, marking its 20th year, features all 30 teams from July 12-22, culminating in a championship. Butler, a 2023 graduate, previously competed with the Orlando Magic's Summer League team and played for the HEAT's G-League affiliate, Sioux Falls Skyforce.

Irvine Valley Tennis Stars Nick Grove and Luciano Pardo Named to 2024 ITA Collegiate All-Star Team

Irvine Valley's star tennis players, Nick Grove and Luciano Pardo, have been named to the 2024 ITA Collegiate All-Star Team, honoring top student-athletes of the 2023-2024 season. Grove and Pardo's achievements include winning the 3C2A state title in doubles and reaching the semifinals in singles. They helped IVC achieve an 11-2 overall record, an 8-0 conference record, and reach the So. Cal. Regional semifinals. The duo joins a prestigious group of IVC players who have won titles at Ojai. Grove and Pardo have also been recognized as All-Americans for their outstanding performance.

Irvine Police Arrest Man for Assaulting Guard in Campus Plaza

A security guard confronted a man sleeping in a car in a reserved spot at Campus Plaza. When asked to leave, the man allegedly pushed and slapped the guard before driving his car towards her, stopping just short of hitting her. The Directed Enforcement Team identified the suspect as Richard Russell Reeder, 48, and arrested him at Westpark Plaza after a 90-minute search. Reeder was booked at Orange County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon and elder abuse.
