Sunburn Relief: 9 Easy Ways to Soothe Your Skin

Sunburns occur when one’s skin receives too much exposure to UV rays from the sun or tanning beds. Even on cloudy days, it is still possible to be burned. Here’s a fast guide to ease pain and heal sunburns:
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water and electrolyte drinks to replenish lost fluids.
Moisturize: Use gentle, unscented lotion to reduce dryness and peeling.
Oatmeal Bath: Soak in a cool bath with oats to soothe irritated skin.
Avoid More Sun: Stay indoors during peak UV hours (10 AM–4 PM), or cover up and use sunscreen.
Wear Breathable Clothing: Loose, cotton or bamboo fabrics help avoid further irritation.
Apply Aloe Vera: Natural aloe soothes inflammation and moisturizes the skin.
Don’t Peel Skin: Let peeling happen naturally to avoid infection or delayed healing.
Leave Blisters Intact: They protect your skin and aid healing—don’t pop them.
Use Anti-Inflammatories: Medications like ibuprofen or hydrocortisone cream can ease pain and swelling.
When to See a Doctor:
Get medical help if you have large blisters, fever, nausea, dehydration, dizziness, or feel faint.

Medical emergencies for pets can happen at any time, so it’s smart to stay prepared. A well-stocked Pet First Aid Kit keeps essential items in one place and helps you act quickly when every second counts. While not all emergencies can be handled at home, having the right tools can make a big difference until you reach a vet.
Common pet emergencies include:
Poisoning
Wounds and broken legs
Burns
Snakebites
Heatstroke
Seizures
Your Pet First Aid Kit should include:
Contact information for your veterinarian
Your pet’s medical records
Clean towels and saline solution for cleaning wounds
Gauze rolls, nonstick bandages, and nonstick tape
Disposable gloves
3% hydrogen peroxide
If the situation is severe, always get your pet to an animal hospital as soon as possible.
