Experience Trio Barclay Live on May 18 — A Season Finale with a World Premiere

On Sunday, May 18, at 5 PM, Trio Barclay will conclude its season with a performance at the Barclay Theatre featuring Arensky’s Piano Trio No. 1 in D Minor and the world premiere of Sheridan Seyfried’s Piano Trio No. 3.

  • Known for their expressive and vibrant interpretations, violinist Dennis Kim, cellist Jonah Kim, and pianist Sean Kennard bring both classic and contemporary chamber music to life.

  • Trio Barclay, founded in 2021, continues to captivate audiences with its dynamic blend of musical mastery and long-standing collaboration.

Pacific Symphony Returns to Great Park Live for Summerfest 2025 Season

Pacific Symphony returns to Irvine’s Great Park Live amphitheater for Summerfest 2025, following a successful debut last year. The five-concert outdoor series, supported by City of Hope and the City of Irvine, begins with a

  • "July 4th Spectacular" featuring patriotic music and fireworks.

  • Other highlights include “Star Wars: The Force Awakens in Concert” (Aug. 2)

  • “Beethoven’s Emperor & Pictures at an Exhibition” (Aug. 8),

  • “Disco Fever” dance night (Aug. 23)

  • “Tchaikovsky Spectacular” season finale (Sept. 6) with fireworks.

San Joaquin Marsh: A Vital Refuge for Migratory Birds and Rare Wetland Habitat

The San Joaquin Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary in Irvine, a 300-acre freshwater wetland managed by the Irvine Ranch Water District, plays a vital role in supporting migratory bird species along the Pacific Flyway.

  • Marine biologist Trude Hurd from the Sea & Sage Audubon Society highlights the marsh’s unique history as a former duck hunting club turned protected habitat.

  • Despite California losing over 90% of its original wetlands, this sanctuary now hosts the most documented bird species in Orange County.

  • Each winter, birds like American white pelicans and various waterfowl migrate here, with some staying year-round to nest, including Canada geese and ruddy ducks.

The Irvine Animal Care Center is seeking Foster Care and Transport Volunteers to support pets on their journey to adoption. Volunteers can make a difference by temporarily caring for animals or helping with transportation. This provides pets with the stability and care they need to thrive.

Will Bermudez Named Anteater of the Week for Standout Baseball Performance

Senior infielder Will Bermudez has been named the Sgt. Pepperoni’s Anteater of the Week after leading No. 13 UC Irvine baseball to a sweep of Cal State Bakersfield. He went 6-for-9 with two doubles and five RBIs across the series, highlighted by a 4-for-4 performance Friday and key defensive plays that sealed wins Saturday and Sunday. His efforts helped clinch at least a share of the Big West regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the conference championship. UCI wraps up the regular season May 15–17 at Anteater Ballpark vs. Cal State Fullerton.
