How Scented Candles May Contribute to Headaches

Burning scented candles at home may contribute to headaches or migraines in people who are sensitive to fragrances, according to UCI Health neurologist Dr. Crystal Jicha. She explains that approximately 25% to 75% of people with migraines experience sensitivity to smells, particularly strong perfumes, sweet fragrances, and floral scents. Paraffin candles may be especially bothersome, so those who notice headaches around scented candles may want to avoid them.

Irvine Police Arrest Suspect in Facebook Marketplace E-Motorcycle Theft

Irvine Police arrested Cristian Manzo, 34, of Santa Ana, for allegedly stealing an e-motorcycle during a Facebook Marketplace transaction at a local park in August. The suspect reportedly asked to test-ride the motorcycle before paying but rode away instead. Detectives identified and arrested him, and he was booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of grand theft.

Police remind residents that a free, well-lit, monitored e-commerce exchange zone is available near the front entrance of the Irvine Police Department parking lot for safer online transactions.
