T&T Supermarket Brings First SoCal Location to Irvine by 2026

T&T Supermarket, Canada’s largest Asian grocery chain, will open its first Southern California store at the Canopy at Great Park in Irvine by late 2026 or 2027.

  • Known for its seafood, hot food bar, bakery, and specialty Asian groceries, T&T has built a loyal following in Canada and recently expanded to Washington.

  • Its Irvine debut is expected to draw excitement, joining other major Asian markets while offering a distinctive selection.

Live Music and Family Fun Tonight at Great Park Live

Jimmy’s Buffet & Jelly Soul will perform at Irvine Nights today, Thursday, August 28, from 5–9 p.m. at Great Park Live. The event features live music along with food, drinks, shopping, and a Kids Zone. Entry is free and open to the public.

Join Takedown Tuesdays: Learn About Local Plants While Helping Community Gardens Grow

Join Takedown Tuesdays at the Irvine Ranch Conservancy’s Native Seed Farm! In this relaxed evening activity, you’ll learn about a couple of local plant species and then help staff with simple weeding to keep native crops healthy. No experience or special tools are needed.

Join the Fun: Fall Arts & Crafts Class at Woodbridge Community Center

The Woodbridge Village Association will host a Fall Arts & Crafts Class for children ages 4–10 on Wednesday, September 10, from 3:30–5:00 p.m. at the Woodbridge Community Center.

  • Participants will enjoy an afternoon of creativity while working on a variety of seasonal projects.

  • The cost is $20 per child, and registration closes on Friday, September 5.

We will resume with the high school music calendar events when the schedule is available for the fall semester.

Final Week of Clear the Shelters — Reduced & Waived Adoption Fees

It is the final week of Clear the Shelters, and the Irvine Animal Care Center is offering reduced or waived adoption fees to help pets find loving homes.

  • Adoption fees are $50 for adult cats and dogs ages 5 months and older, and waived for rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and other small animals (puppies and kittens not included).

  • It’s a chance to adopt a friend, save on fees, and give an animal the home they deserve.

UCI Men’s Soccer: DiCenzo Honored as Anteater of the Week After UCLA Win

Senior defender Nolan DiCenzo earned Anteater of the Week after scoring in UC Irvine’s 2-0 season-opening win over UCLA.

  • He played all 90 minutes, anchored the defense, and sealed the match with an 82nd-minute goal — his first since 2022.

  • The victory was UCI’s first over UCLA since 2013.

  • Next up: Cal State LA (Aug. 28, 6 p.m.) and North Florida (Aug. 31) at home.

Irvine Police Arrest Driver for DUI After Collision Near Jeffrey Rd.

Irvine Police responded last Saturday to a report of a possible DUI near Jeffrey Rd. and Roosevelt after a driver crashed into a wall and continued driving erratically. Officers located the vehicle, safely blocked it, and arrested the driver for DUI. The department reminds the community to call 911 if they ever suspect someone is driving under the influence.
