Irvine’s sixth annual Mid-Autumn Festival returns to the Great Park on Friday, September 25, from 5–9:30 p.m. The free, family-friendly celebration will feature vibrant performances, cultural displays, hands-on crafts, food, and activities highlighting Mid-Autumn traditions celebrated across many East and Southeast Asian cultures.

Shanghai Ballet Brings The Butterfly Lovers to Irvine on Oct. 16

Shanghai Ballet returns to North America with The Butterfly Lovers at Irvine Barclay Theatre on Friday, Oct. 16 at 8 p.m. Often described as the Chinese Romeo and Juliet, the full-length ballet follows two young lovers whose devotion overcomes social barriers and ultimately transforms them into butterflies. The production combines classical ballet with Chinese theatrical traditions.

Hello Kitty Cafe Irvine Rolls Out Fall Seasonal Specials

Hello Kitty Cafe Irvine is celebrating fall with a limited-time lineup of seasonal drinks and treats. Guests can enjoy a Pumpkin Spiced Latte, Pumpkin Cloud Cold Brew, Pumpkin Hot Chocolate, Pumpkin Tart, and Maple Donuts, all featuring festive Hello Kitty-themed touches.

IRWD’s H2O Show & Tell Brings Pancakes, Big Trucks and Science Fun to Irvine

Bring the family to IRWD’s fourth annual H2O Show & Tell on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9–11 a.m. at IRWD Headquarters in Irvine. This free open house features a pancake breakfast, big trucks kids can climb on, hands-on science experiments, interactive water displays, and other family-friendly activities.

Learn Tips for Healthy and Active Aging at Free Irvine Workshop, Sep. 18

Join a Healthy Aging Workshop this Friday, September 18, from 11 a.m. to noon at Heritage Park Community Center. Dr. Steven P. Tam of UCI Health will share practical tips for staying healthy and active while aging, covering nutrition, exercise, brain health, fall prevention, chronic condition management, and more. The workshop is open to the public, and family members and caregivers are welcome.

Explore Round Canyon on an Easy Family Hike September 26

Enjoy an easy, family-friendly hike through Round Canyon on Saturday, September 26, from 4–6:30 p.m. The 2.5-mile hike explores Irvine Ranch Open Space at a relaxed pace, with opportunities to spot red-tailed hawks, mule deer, and other wildlife. The hike has a difficulty rating of 2 with about 370 feet of elevation change.

Enjoy an Afternoon of Classical Music at Heritage Park Library, Sept. 19

Cellist Chelsea Wong will bring classical music to life at Heritage Park Library this Saturday, September 19, at 2 p.m.The interactive musical experience will explore rhythm and movement in a fun, engaging way, and all ages are welcome.

Vegetation Work Closes Part of San Diego Creek Trail Through Friday

A section of the San Diego Creek Trail between the Spectrum area and Los Olivos community is temporarily closed while crews clear vegetation along the trail. The closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday, September 18.

UCI Volleyball’s Whitney Wallace Named Anteater of the Week

UC Irvine junior libero Whitney Wallace was named Anteater of the Week after averaging a team-best 4.85 digs per set at the UCI Invitational, including a career-high 30 digs against San Jose State. Wallace, who leads UCI with 3.47 digs per set this season, also earned a spot on the UCI Invitational All-Tournament Team.

Irvine Valley men’s soccer improved to 2-2 with a dominant 5-0 road win over Palomar, its second straight shutout victory. Five goals came from Ford Twitty, Logan Yapelli, Jonathan Minney (2), and Tommy Edwards.

Police Arrest Suspect After Irvine Apartment Assault

Irvine Police arrested 31-year-old Christopher Lupercio of Anaheim in connection with an assault at an apartment on Martin. Police said two women confronted a man after hearing him use offensive language, and he allegedly punched both women, significantly injuring one. Detectives arrested Lupercio in Tustin following a search warrant, and he was booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of felony battery.
