Spring Cleaning Pet Safety Tips to Keep Your Furry Friends Safe

Spring cleaning season is a wonderful time to freshen up your home, and it’s also a great opportunity to make sure your space stays safe and comfortable for your pets.

Helpful Pet Safety Tips:

  • Store cleaning products securely – Keep products containing bleach, ammonia, or other strong chemicals in cabinets or shelves safely out of your pet’s reach.

  • Wash pet bedding – Blankets, beds, towels, and removable covers can collect bacteria, allergens, and even fleas over time.

  • Keep pets in a separate room while cleaning – This can help reduce exposure to dust, fumes, or cleaning chemicals, and keeping windows open for ventilation may also help.

  • Consider cleaning or replacing pet toys – Regularly washing toys and replacing worn ones can help keep them fresh and safe for everyday play.

  • Check window screens – Before opening windows for fresh air, make sure the screens are secure so pets stay safely indoors and bugs/pests outdoors.
