How Chilly Days Affect Your Health โ Take Care of Yourself in Cold Weather

As temperatures drop, itโs a good reminder to take a little extra care of yourself. UCI Health emergency medicine physician Dr. Isabel Algaze Gonzalez explains that cold weather can affect the whole body, causing the heart to work harder and blood pressure to rise within a short time. While this can be more concerning for those with existing heart conditions, simple precautions like dressing warmly, limiting outdoor exertion, and listening to your body can help you stay safe and healthy during chilly days.
