An Evening of Holiday Classics with Linda Eder and Billy Stritch, Dec. 18

The performance includes classic seasonal songs like โO Holy Nightโ and โHave Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,โ along with Broadway favorites and selections from Ederโs wide-ranging repertoire in pop, jazz, and inspirational music. Known for her powerful, expressive voice and performances at major venues such as Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center, Eder offers an evening of diverse holiday and theatrical music.
Irvine Modifies Great Park Plan, Pauses Consideration of Columbarium

Irvine approved a land swap creating space for 1,300 new homes and bringing $15 million for Great Park development. The city council split on how the land should be used, ultimately voting 4โ3 to remove plans for a possible columbarium while continuing broader planning discussions.
The debated land includes old El Toro base structures and has long been tied to past veterans cemetery proposals.
Although the area is zoned for cemetery use under a 2020 voter initiative, the city attorney said zoning does not restrict the city on its own property.
Mayor Agran argued any change should go back to voters, while others maintained the city can move forward without a ballot measure.
The decision delays any commitment to a columbarium while other uses continue to be explored.
Traffic Signal Shutdown Today at Alton Pkwy & Technology West

The City of Irvine is performing a traffic signal shutdown today at the intersection of Alton Parkway and Technology West from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as part of a synchronization project. While crews work to improve traffic flow along Alton, drivers can expect delays and use alternate routes when possible.

These monitors also send real-time patient data to hospitals, helping medical teams prepare faster and deliver safer, more coordinated care.
Building on a strong 2024โwhere OCFA exceeded the national average for restoring pulses after cardiac arrestโthis advanced technology will further strengthen their lifesaving efforts.

Enjoy the Outdoors Safely: Know Irvineโs E-Bike Rules

To help protect wildlife, sensitive habitats, and lower fire risks, E-bikes are not allowed in the Irvine Open Space Preserve. Mayor Larry Agran shared a friendly reminder that spots like Quail Hill Loop Trail and Bommer Canyon Preserve are e-bike-free to help keep Irvineโs beautiful open spaces wild. Visitors are encouraged to take a moment to review the trail rules and check the cityโs official trail map before heading out to enjoy the outdoors.
