OC DA Forms H.E.I.S.T. Team to Combat Rising Burglaries; Offers Home Security Tips
Due to a rise in home and commercial burglaries, Orange County DA Todd Spitzer created H.E.I.S.T. (Home Invasion Eradication Interdiction Strike Team) in June 2022. This unit, with four veteran prosecutors and four investigators, works with law enforcement to prosecute organized burglary crews. To prevent burglaries, the DA's office suggests:
1. Lock all entry points when away.
2. Install security systems with cameras and alarms.
3. Establish a community watch with your neighbors.

How to Care for Your New Puppy or Kitten: Expert Tips for First-Time Pet Owners
First-time pet parents, whether of playful pups or curious kittens, can expect a whirlwind of love and excitement, along with a few challenges.
Be patient as they learn potty training and good manners, and prepare for frequent meals with age-appropriate food.
Puppies and kittens need plenty of toys and playtime to burn off energy and avoid trouble.
Nighttime wake-up calls are common, especially for puppies; crate training can help.
Provide safe chew toys and scratching posts to prevent unwanted behaviors, and stay consistent with potty training.
