UC Irvine Men's Basketball Stays Undefeated with 67-60 Victory Over Towson in Western Slam
UC Irvine clinched a 67-60 victory over Towson at the Western Slam in Lethbridge, Alberta, led by Devin Tillis's career-high 25 points, earning him MVP honors. The Anteaters improved to 8-0 with strong defense, holding opponents to 60 points or less in each game. Key performances included Bent Leuchten’s 11 points and two blocks, Justin Hohn’s milestone of 1,000 career points, and stellar team shooting at 52.2% from the field. UCI opens Big West play against Cal State Bakersfield on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. in the Bren Events Center.

IVC Volleyball’s Fowler and Oldham Recognized Among OEC’s Best Players
IVC women’s volleyball players Audrey Fowler and Hailey Oldham earned spots on the all-Orange Empire Conference teams, with Fowler making the first team and Oldham the second. Under first-year head coach Alissa Blevins, IVC ended the season 9-15 overall and 9-7 in conference play, winning four of their last five matches. Fowler, a sophomore, averaged 2.49 kills and 4.07 digs per set, leading the OEC in total digs (387) and earning her second consecutive all-conference honor. Freshman Oldham led the team with 3.14 kills per set and ranked fourth in total kills (298), showcasing strong all-around performance with 2.27 digs per set.

Portola High Wins First CIF Football Title, Defeats El Rancho 31-14
Portola High School’s football team turned its season around in stunning fashion, clinching the CIF Division 11 title with a 31-14 victory over El Rancho in their first-ever championship appearance. Quarterback Nash Luper led the charge with 165 passing yards and two touchdowns, supported by standout performances from running backs Diego Reyna and Timmy Grettenberg, and a staunch defense that secured two interceptions. Overcoming a rough 0-5 start, the Bulldogs rallied under Coach Peter Abe's leadership, showcasing teamwork and resilience to achieve the historic win. Portola now advances to the CIF Southern Regional.
