Protect Our Beach Birds: How to Help California's Nesting Terns and Plovers

Orange County Beaches host small colonies of California Least Terns, Western Snowy Plovers, and Black Skimmers finishing their nesting season. Their nests are simple scrapes in the sand, often near beachgoers, offering a unique glimpse into nature. Successful nesting is crucial for their survival, but they face challenges like predators and human disturbances. To help, avoid distracting these birds from incubating, hatching, feeding, and protecting their young. Give them space and share the shore to ensure a successful breeding season!
