![]() | ![]() |
Limor Tomer has been appointed as the new VP of Programming and Production at Segerstrom Center for the Arts, succeeding Judy Morr, who retires after nearly four decades of leadership. Tomer, formerly with The Met’s Live Arts Department, will build on Morr’s legacy, which includes shaping Segerstrom’s world-renowned dance series and establishing partnerships with premier companies like the American Ballet Theatre. Starting in January 2025, Tomer will enhance Segerstrom's cultural impact by developing new work and collaborating with resident companies, combining her expertise as a classical pianist, programmer, and educator to advance the Center's artistic vision.

Tips to Keep Your Sinuses Clear and Healthy

During cold seasons, sinus infections (sinusitis) become more common as colder weather can lead to nasal congestion, creating an environment for viral or bacterial infections.
Symptoms often include nasal pain, headache, mucus buildup, loss of smell, fever, and fatigue, but antibiotics are only necessary for about 10% of cases.
To naturally support sinus health, you can stay hydrated, eat spicy foods like red pepper for mucus flow, and consume probiotics to strengthen immunity.
Ginger and turmeric help with inflammation and sinus pain, while avoiding dairy may prevent mucus thickening.
Warm herbal teas, regular exercise, essential oils, and stress management techniques like meditation can also alleviate sinus issues.
For personalized advice, visit urgent care locations in Irvine, Fountain Valley, or Costa Mesa.

Black Widow Spiders: Mighty Web-Weavers with Silk Stronger than Steel

The Black Widow Spider (Latrodectus mactans) is a small but formidable spider known for its strong silk, tougher than steel by weight, used to weave durable webs. Females display a distinctive red hourglass marking, signaling predators to steer clear. Black Widows consume their body weight in insects daily and have the impressive ability to regenerate lost legs during molting. A single female can lay up to 400 eggs in one sac, ensuring a robust population of future web-weaving spiders.
