Irvine Restaurants Join Burger Week Sept. 20–26

Irvine is joining Burger Week, Sept. 20–26, with nine local restaurants serving special burgers ranging from classic beef to chicken, turkey, mushroom, and plant-based options.

Irvine Library Cardholders Can Enjoy Special Local Deals Through September 30

Irvine Public Library cardholders can enjoy special discounts and freebies at participating Irvine businesses through September 30 for Library Card Sign-up Month. Offers include free or discounted food, printing, flowers, dance enrollment, eye care, stretching, dry cleaning, music lessons, and more. Library cards are free for California residents with a valid photo ID and proof of residency, and new members can receive the library’s one-year anniversary card design.

Join Sunright Tea Studio’s Irvine Jeffrey Reopening Celebration September 19

Sunright Tea Studio’s Irvine Jeffrey location is celebrating its reopening on Saturday, September 19, from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. 

  • The first 17 guests will receive a free drink with one topping, a large Sunny plush, and a car sunshade

  • The next 100 will get a free drink and silicone coaster/cup carrier

  • After that, 150 BOGO drink vouchers will be given out

  • After 3 p.m., customers who buy three or more drinks can receive a free Sunny keychain while supplies last.

Students and Families Invited to Explore College and Career Opportunities Oct. 5

Irvine Unified School District will host its free College and Career Fair on Monday, Oct. 5, from 5–7 p.m. at Portola High School. Students, families and community members can meet college and university representatives, explore Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways, learn about military and NCAA opportunities, connect with community partners, and participate in interactive workshops focused on college, career and life readiness.

Red Cross Blood Drive Coming to Woodbridge on September 30

Woodbridge will host a Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, September 30, from 12–6 p.m. at the Woodbridge Community Center. Those interested in donating blood can schedule an appointment through the Red Cross website by entering their ZIP code or by calling 1-800-733-2767.

Enjoy an Evening Moonrise Hike With Scenic Views of Irvine on Sept. 25

Join a moderate-paced moonrise hike through Orchard Hills on Friday, September 25, from 6–8 p.m. The three-mile loop winds around an avocado orchard and offers ridge-top views of Irvine and the Pacific coastline, with steep climbs, uneven terrain, and about 800 feet of elevation change.

Modern Makers Mart Returns to Irvine Oct. 10–11

Join the Modern Makers Mart on October 10–11 from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. at Woodbury Town Center in Irvine. The free, pet-friendly event will feature 55+ local vendors, craft stations, live music, and a kids craft area, offering a fun weekend of shopping and activities for the whole family.

Psyllium Fiber for Pets: Uses, Safety and Helpful Tips

Psyllium is a type of fiber that can be given to cats and dogs to help support healthy digestion and bowel movements. It comes in capsules and should be used with guidance from a veterinarian, especially since it may not be safe for every pet.

  • How is it given? Give the capsule by mouth with food, or open it and mix the powder with enough liquid. Always make sure your pet has plenty of fresh water.

  • How quickly does it work? It usually starts working within 1–2 days.

  • Is it safe? It can be safe when used properly, but it may cause choking if mixed with thick food or liquids. Rare allergic reactions are also possible.

  • Who should avoid it? Pets with trouble swallowing, a possible intestinal blockage, or an allergy to the supplement should not take it.

  • Taking other medications? Check with your veterinarian because psyllium can interact with some medicines.

Zoe Sprecher Leads UCI Women’s Golf With Top-10 Finish

UC Irvine women’s golf finished 11th at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational with a three-round team score of 896. Zoe Sprecher led the Anteaters, tying for 10th at even-par 216.

Irvine Valley Women’s Soccer Stays Unbeaten With 1-0 Win Over West LA

Irvine Valley women’s soccer stayed unbeaten at 4-0 with a close 1-0 win at West LA, thanks to Zoe Evangelista’s game-winning goal in the 82nd minute. Freshman goalkeeper Alessia Krasnow made six saves as the Lasers held West LA scoreless.

Irvine Police Arrest Internet Installer Accused of Taking Customer’s Private Video

Irvine Police arrested 37-year-old Logan Edward Gray-McCannon of Hemet after a woman reported that an explicit personal video was allegedly sent from her phone to another device while he was installing GFiber internet at her apartment. Police said Gray-McCannon is a contractor with ITC Service Group Acquisition and was booked on charges including commercial burglary, sharing a private sexual image without consent, and unauthorized computer access. Detectives believe there may be additional victims and are asking anyone with a similar experience to contact Irvine Police.
