New York Bagel Brand H&H Set to Open First OC Shop in Irvine

H&H Bagels is planning to open its first Orange County location in Irvine at The Canopy at Great Park, with an expected opening in late 2026. The New York City brand, founded in 1972, is known for its classic New York-style bagels, house-made spreads, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, smoked fish, and catering options. It will join a growing mix of dining and retail tenants at the 12-acre Canopy development.
Help Harvest Fresh Produce for Orange County Families on April 11

Join a community volunteer harvest event on Saturday, April 11, from 8 to 11 a.m. at Harvest Solutions Farm in Irvine, hosted with Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. Participants will help pick fresh produce such as cabbage, broccoli, squash, and lettuce to support local families across Orange County facing food insecurity. The farm plays an important role in supporting the community, with the food bank serving more than 450,000 people each month last year.

Traffic Signal Work Scheduled at Two Irvine Intersections March 30โ31

City of Irvine will temporarily shut down traffic signals for roadway improvement work from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Paseo Westpark on Monday, March 30, and Culver Drive and Viewpark on Tuesday, March 31. Drivers may expect delays and consider using alternate routes during those hours.

Cooking Classes and Free Food Boxes: Healthy Living Resources for National Nutrition Month

March is National Nutrition Month, and the City of Irvine is highlighting several helpful resources to support healthier habits, from cooking classes and educational talks to free food assistance for eligible residents.
Healthy Lunch Culinary Classes โ Wednesdays, 6โ8 p.m. at the Irvine Fine Arts Center; learn practical cooking skills and how to prepare nutritious meals with seasonal ingredients
Education Lectures โ times and locations vary; designed for older adults with a focus on nutrition and supporting brain health
Free Food Box Distribution โ second Thursday of each month, 9 a.m.โnoon at Great Park Parking Lot 2; eligible residents can pick up nutritious staples for balanced meals at home

Spot Local Birds on a Guided Morning Walk at Peters Canyon April 15

Join OC Parks for a free Sage Scrub Bird Walk at Peters Canyon Regional Park on Wednesday, April 15, , from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. This guided interpretive walk invites participants to explore the park in search of birds both in the trees and among the sage scrub. Registration opens April 1 at 12 a.m., with walk-ins also welcome as space allows.

Get creative at Cut, Fold, Color & Click! Paper Sculptures & More on Saturday, April 11, from noon to 3 p.m. at Great Park Studio. The Irvine Police Department is asking for the publicโs help in identifying two men connected to fraudulent check-cashing incidents. According to investigators, one fraudulent check was deposited at a U.S. Bank branch in San Juan Capistrano, while a second was cashed at another branch in Compton. Anyone who recognizes the individuals is encouraged to contact Investigator Berbiglia at [email protected].
