Irvine Ranks as California’s Top Real Estate Market

A recent WalletHub study ranked Irvine as the top real estate market in California, based on an evaluation of 300 U.S. cities across 17 measures of housing market strength and economic health. Irvine ranked 10th nationally overall and second among large U.S. cities with more than 300,000 residents, behind Charlotte, North Carolina.

Snarky Puppy Takes the Stage at Irvine Barclay Theatre on October 4

Five-time Grammy-winning collective Snarky Puppy takes the stage at Irvine Barclay Theatre on Sunday, October 4, at 7 p.m., bringing its energetic blend of jazz, funk, R&B, soul, rock, gospel, and fusion. Cookies & Tea: Two Fresh Flavors Arrive in Orange County This Fall

Orange County is welcoming two new dining spots this fall.

Levain Bakery has opened its first Orange County location at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, bringing its thick chocolate chip walnut cookies from New York City.

Molly Tea is also opening its first Orange County café at Los Olivos Marketplace in Irvine, specializing in aromatic floral teas, including jasmine-based drinks such as Jasmine Matcha milk tea and Pistachio Jasmine Coconut tea.

A Night Out for Parents and a Fun Night for Kids at Woodbridge

Woodbridge Village Association is giving parents an opportunity to enjoy a relaxing evening together while the kids have some fun of their own. Children can enjoy a pizza dinner, games, and a movie, and are welcome to bring a sleeping bag, pillow, or blanket to get comfortable.

Registration is available at rec.wva.org.

What to Eat During Hot Weather to Help Prevent Dehydration

Hot summer weather can increase the risk of dehydration and leave you feeling tired or overheated. Along with drinking plenty of water, choosing hydrating foods and foods rich in electrolytes can help you stay refreshed and energized.

  • Hydrating foods: Watermelon, cucumbers, berries, citrus fruits, leafy greens, celery, and zucchini

  • Electrolyte-rich options: Bananas, yogurt, avocados, nuts, seeds, and coconut water

  • Refreshing meal ideas: Fruit salads, green smoothies, chilled cucumber-yogurt soup, veggie wraps, and homemade fruit popsicles

  • Summer tips: Drink water regularly, eat smaller and lighter meals, and limit heavy, fried, or spicy foods during especially hot weather

Irvine Animal Care Center’s Longest-Resident Dogs Hope to Find Homes

Saphira and Glacier are the two longest-resident dogs at the Irvine Animal Care Center, and both are hoping to find a loving home.

  • Saphira is a sweet and playful girl who enjoys walks, fetch, treats, and attention and would do best with an experienced adopter as the only pet.

  • Glacier is a playful and energetic young Husky who enjoys spending time with people and going on adventures. He would be happiest in a loving home where there are no cats or other small animals.

Stop by and meet these two special dogs—one of them just might be your new best friend. Find more information here.
