Orange Juice May Help Improve Mental Health

A new study suggests that drinking orange juice may offer mental health benefits. UCI Health dietitian Amber Isenhart explains that flavonoids in orange juice are processed by gut bacteria, potentially improving communication between the gut and brain and supporting mental well-being. While more research is needed, Isenhart says enjoying a daily glass of orange juice can be part of a healthy diet. She recommends choosing juice without added sugars and keeping daily added sugar intake within 25–36 grams, depending on individual energy needs.

Understanding Your Cat’s Body Language: Helpful Tips for Pet Owners

Cats have their own special ways of telling us how they feel. Sometimes, even the friendliest cats need a little break from petting or playtime. The Irvine Animal Care Center shares a few simple signs to help you understand when your furry friend needs some space.
Signs Your Cat Needs a Break:
Tail flicking or swishing: Your cat may be getting annoyed.
Ears turning sideways or backward: Your cat may feel uncomfortable.
Staring intensely: Your cat may be feeling tense or upset.
Fur moving or twitching: Your cat may be overstimulated.
Body becoming stiff: Your cat may be ready to swat or scratch.
Watching birds or other animals: Excitement from outdoor activity can also cause overstimulation.
